How do you measure closest-to-the-pin?

It is the shortest distance to the pin from each player’s best ball that has come to rest on the green’s surface to determine the leader-board positions.  It is a line of site measurement provided by E6 Connect.

How long does it take to play PinSeeker?

Each tournament hosted on PinSeeker is typically around 5-8 shots per tournament. Most players can play a tournament in less than 5 minutes.

What is a golf simulator?

A golf simulator is a piece of hardware combined with software that allows you to simulate the game of golf.

A more detailed description: A technologically advanced machine that can sense, record, and analyze your swing and show you results like club speed, clubface angle and impact, club path, ball path, ball speed, horizontal and vertical launch angle, spin, and so on with simulator mats, sonic sound system, optical sensor system, radar, ball tracking system, and cameras.

Every simulator captures and senses these data points a little differently so it is important to get to know how your simulator works best with lighting, positioning, and so on.

There are a variety of manufacturers of golf simulator hardware.  Several of those manufactures utilize E6 Connect software as the driving engine.

What is E6 CONNECT? Will E6 CONNECT work on my simulator?

E6 CONNECT is an added feature on the E6 platforms that allows players to better track their stats, improve their game, and play golf courses around the world. To learn more, go to https://e6golf.com/

What is the speed of the greens on a stimpmeter?

The speed of the greens vary per tournament.  We use the terminology slow, medium, fast to indicate speed.  Slow is 8 or less, medium is 9-10, fast is 11 or higher.

My shot is closer than other shots but it’s not sorted right on the leader-board?

Only shots that come to rest on the green’s surface (not fringe, fairway, rough, or hazard) will be considered eligible to win (Identified in the definition of OB). In some cases when the pin is tucked tight on the green, you may hit a close one (good for you!), but still may not be eligible to win and will be considered OB per tournament rules. While you may not have an eligible shot, we will still show your best shot distance on the leader-board with the OB indicator.

What does OB mean?

OB means out-of-bounds. PinSeeker rules state that a ball must be on the green in order to be eligible to participate in the tournament. This does not always mean you were out-of-bounds for the hole. However, you are OB for the hole, per tournament rules, if your ball doesn’t come to rest on the green.

My swing didn’t register?

There are a couple of reasons that a shot may not register with PinSeeker.

Simulator Hardware

Depending on the type of simulator hardware that you are using and the technology used within the simulator, there may be instances where a shot was not recognized due to many factors. Check with your simulator company to understand why this may be the case.

Connection Issues

In the case where your local network may lose connectivity, this could cause issues with E6 Connect not being able to read the shot data from the hardware as well as PinSeeker not being able to read the shot data from E6 Connect.

Why does it tell me a simulator is not nearby when there is one nearby?

Some simulators are not registered therefore our system is incapable of locating them. In cases where you find a simulator that is unregistered check to see if the location operates the E6 Connect with the Pinseeker Game. This includes private simulators that may have the ability to play PinSeeker. In this case, simply click Continue to play.

Why does it say that my location is restricted?

PinSeeker is only available in select jurisdictions. Please check www.pinseekergame.com or contact [email protected] if you are located in a legal jurisdiction but unable to play.

Can I play without using my camera?

Your camera is only used to enter into the tournament by recognizing the QR code.  Otherwise, you can type in the 6 digit code, located on the screen directly into your phone.

How do I play in a tournament?

Download the PinSeeker Game app on your smartphone.  Confirm your simulator is a sim eligible for E6 Connect. Make sure you have download the latest version of E6 Connect that contains the PinSeeker game. If you do not have a simulator, locate one nearby that has E6 Connect. Finally, you will navigate to the active tournaments on the app and select “Enter the tournament”.  From there follow the on-screen prompts to enter the tournament.

Home Simulator Owners

Prizes and Payouts

Will I lose my amateur status if I take funds from PinSeeker?

https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/rules/rules-of-amateur-status.html#!rule-03

Currently, the short answer is yes. As of now, according to the USGA, any golfer participating in a competition for cash prizes forfeits amateur status.  Further, any golfer who wins more than $750 in merchandise, prizes or prize vouchers forfeits amateur status,

An exception to this rule is Rule 3-2b regarding hole-in-one’s.  Currently, there is no limit to the prize value you can receive for getting a hole-in-one.

As of January 1, 2022, a new and exciting rule will take effect.  PinSeeker will be exempt from this rule as the new provision will be added limiting the rule to “tee to hole golf competition involving a score for a hole”.
